Instructions or use Required materials:
  1. Leather Luster
  2. Fine Steel Wool
  3. Leather Luster Pre-cleaner
  4. Cotton terry cloth rags

Preparation:

  1. Remove all waxes, oils and dyes from leather articles (new or used) with cotton terry cloth rags and Leather Luster Pre-cleaner. SCRUB THE SHOES UNTIL NO MORE BLACK COMES OFF ON TO THE RAGS. When sufficiently cleaned, the leather article will appear to be a dull gray and the shoe color will no longer come off onto the cotton terry cloth rag.
  2. Set in sun 5-10 minutes to dry from cleaning process. If not properly pre-cleaned, Leather Luster solution will not dry.

TIP: For some of our more popular brand boots, like HI-TECH and Rockey boots, we have found great success with using fine sandpaper to buff the leather in order to help open the pores of the leather. After buffing wipe again with Pre-cleaner.

NOTE: It is crucial to keep cleaning until the shoe color no longer adheres to the cotton terry cloth rag. If the shoe is not properly cleaned, Leather Luster will not dry once applied.

Application:

  1. Apply one thin coat of Leather Luster solution and allow to dry naturally for 4-6 hours.
DO NOT BAKE, BLOW DRY OR TRY TO EXPEDITE THE NATURAL DRYING PROCESS IN ANY WAY. DOING SO, MAY DAMAGE YOUR LEATHER ARTICLE AND PRODUCE AN UNSATISFACTORY FINISHED PRODUCT. Once completely dry proceed to step 2.
  2. Apply a second coat of Leather Luster and repeat the drying process.
  3. Buff leather with steel wool for smooth even surface.
  4. Apply a 3rd and / or 4th coat and repeat drying process.

To remove finish/ re-apply:

  1. Blot Zip-Strip Paint Clear and Finish Remover on old finish and let set for 30-60 seconds. Old Leather Luster will rise to the surface of the leather article.
  2. Wipe off with rag.
  3. For re-application, repeat preparation and application instructions.
